Generals Making An Impact In The Community
Released: 2/2/2009
Throughout this fall, our student-athletes have had quite a presence in the community. A few of the opportunities that they have had included speaking to fifth graders at Horseshoe Drive Elementary School, helping out with a Habitat for Humanity work day, handing out candy at LSUA’s annual Trick-or-Treat Street, and giving blood at a Life Share blood drive. “It is important for our student-athletes to give back to our community. Central Louisiana has been very supportive of our university as we have started our intercollegiate sports programs. It is good to know that we have had the opportunity to give something back.” stated Coach Purvis.
Baseball/Softball Complex Update
Released: 2/2/2009
As the fall semester comes to a close, you will start to notice some changes to the site of the baseball/softball complex. The dirt work for both fields has been completed, light poles have been delved, and the foundation has been prepared for the concession stand. As winter approaches, we are optimistic that the weather will not cause many delays in the progress of construction. The next major step in the project is the setting of the light poles. The remaining structures will be able to be erected fairly shortly thereafter. The project currently has a completion date of April 2009.
